It started off as a weekend activity for a father and son to share their love of photography and the beach and all it has to offer. The years that followed were full of positive comments and feedback from friends and family. Even their peers had great things to say about the early morning photos taken by Bill and Joel, depicting beach life, beach culture and those beautiful sunrises. Joel decided that they should share their photos with others and considering the websites and businesses he has visited in the past and researching the websites and blogs of other photographers’, he created ‘Liquid Boulevard’.
There is a rich history of surfing and beach life associated with the Stafford name on the Gold Coast in Queensland and with a passion for surfing shared by Joel and his father Bill, it only seemed natural that this history and these passions should come together in such a harmonious way via ‘Liquid Boulevard’.
Bill & Joel Stafford are now sharing their images on a daily basis via their online photographic forum/blog – www.liquidboulevard.com. Continuing the lead of his late Grandfather (Bill Stafford Snr), Joel has taken steps to preserve the Stafford name as part of the surfing history and culture of the Gold Coast, by documenting the area via his and his father’s photography and striving to preserve the amazing history of the area for all to share in the future.
So the Stafford boys are not only capturing images of an ever changing beach community but they set out to capture those special early morning glimpses of beauty that is the Gold Coast.
